St. Timothy's Church School
Church School is held during the 10 am Sunday service. The Church School is currently divided into six classes:
Nursery
- Open by 9:45am
- On the main floor off the west hall
- Parents are welcome to remain with their children
- Parents are welcome to pick up their children at any time
- Parents are asked to help in this room occasionally
- Parents are asked to pick up their children promptly at the end of the service
Pre-school, Junior and Senior Kindergarten
- Located in the North Room on the second floor by the Ridley staircase
- Children come to this class after the Children's Talk at the beginning of the church serviceChildren may stay here until the end of the church service when they are to be picked up by their parents
- Parents are welcome to pick up their children and bring them into church for communion
- Parents are asked to help in this room occasionally
Grades 1 to 8
Children go to class after the Children's Talk at the beginning of the church service. Generally, students will be brought back to the church service in time for communion.
Please note that on the first Sunday of every month, the Grade 4-6 students remain in class until the end of the church service, when they are to be picked up by their parents.
- Grade 1-2 Located in the Lower North Room halfway down to the basement on the Ridley staircase
- Grade 3 Located in the Lower South Room halfway down to the basement on the Ridley staircase
- Grades 4-6 Located in the Upper South Room on the second floor by the Ridley staircase
- Grades 7-8 (NEW THIS YEAR) Located in the Library on the main floor by the Ridley staircase
Should there be very few children on a particular Sunday, classes may be combined
Rock Solid, our curriculum for JK to Grade 3, provides a comprehensive overview of the Bible by covering the major stories of the Bible over three years. Each week on their faith journey children will be helped to understand the Scripture and apply it to their daily lives. The outline of Bible stories follows the church year, so children fully experience stories of Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and Pentecost.
Witness, our Grade 4 to Grade 8 curriculum, encourages children to "Learn from the Bible to Live the Good News". The goals of this two year program are to Know the Word, Grow in Faith and Show Service.
NEW THIS YEAR
For pre-school to grade 6 classes, there will be occasional drama sessions where the children can re-enact a Bible story for the other classes.
We have an Open Door policy. Parents are welcome to drop in to see what is going on at any time.
Fire Alarm – in the event of the fire alarm sounding:
Nursery – Parents should go to the Nursery for their children and take them out the Parking Lot door
Pre-school to Grade 8 - Parents are asked to meet their children outside on the sidewalk by the fence leading to the Ridley doors
